Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ADAhelp (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the website at ada-help.com and any related services (the “Service”).
ADAhelp is operated for users in the United States — primarily New York — and is not intended for users outside of those jurisdictions.
1. Information we collect
Information you submit
When you complete an intake or otherwise contact us, we collect:
- Identity and contact information — your name, email address, phone number, and any optional notes you provide.
- Case information — the place you visited and its address, the date of your visit, your description of what happened, the categories of accessibility barriers you selected, and any photos you upload.
- Eligibility responses — yes/no answers about whether you visited the place, whether you encountered a barrier, and whether you have a disability that the barrier affected.
Payment information
When you pay the $29 admin fee, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. We retain a record of the transaction (Stripe payment ID, amount, currency, status, the email address Stripe associated with the payment, and the timestamp) for accounting, fraud-prevention, and refund purposes.
Information collected automatically
- Device and connection — IP address, browser type, operating system, and timestamps of your visits.
- Cookies — we use first-party HTTP-only cookies to maintain your intake session (so you can complete the form across multiple visits within 30 days) and a short-lived match cookie (24 hours) so we can show you your attorney shortlist after you submit. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Organize your case file (photos, timeline, barrier categories) and shortlist three NY-licensed attorneys whose practices fit your claim;
- Forward your full submission to the attorney you pick from your shortlist for case evaluation, and to support that representation if they agree to take the case;
- Process the $29 admin fee through our payment processor;
- Send you transactional emails (confirmations, status updates) about your submission;
- Operate, secure, and improve the Service;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms;
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share your information
Your matched attorney
We shortlist three NY-licensed attorneys for you based on your location, the type of barriers you encountered, and the kinds of matters those attorneys handle. The shortlist data sent to other attorneys is limited to enabling the match — your full submission (contact details, case information, photos) is shared only with the attorney you pick. The other two attorneys on your shortlist do not see your contact details or your full submission. The attorney you pick is independent of ADAhelp and operates under their own policies and professional obligations once they receive your information.
Service providers
We use third-party service providers to operate the Service. These providers process information only on our instructions and only as needed to provide their service:
- Vercel — website hosting and serverless functions (United States).
- Supabase — database and file storage (United States).
- Resend — sending transactional email on our behalf (United States).
- Stripe — payment processing for the $29 admin fee (United States). Stripe collects and processes your card data directly; we do not see or store your full card number.
- Google Maps Platform (Places API)— autocomplete suggestions when you type the address of the place you visited. Your search input is sent to Google for that purpose only; Google’s own privacy policies apply to that processing.
Legal compliance
We may share information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ADAhelp, our users, or the public.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with marketing third parties or data brokers.
4. Data retention
- Drafts — incomplete intakes are kept for up to 30 days from the last update and are then deleted.
- Submissions and photos— completed submissions and the associated photos are kept for the duration of your matched attorney’s representation, plus an additional period typically up to seven (7) years to comply with legal-hold and recordkeeping requirements common to legal matters.
- Payment records — transaction records (Stripe payment ID, amount, status, timestamp) are kept for at least seven (7) years for tax and accounting purposes.
- Communications — email correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your matter and respond to follow-up questions.
5. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including HTTPS in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest for the database and file storage, access controls on staff accounts, and Postgres row-level security to limit access to sensitive data. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing info@cdwebmarketing.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law. Note that information shared with your matched attorney may be subject to their own policies and to legal-hold requirements that prevent us from deleting material we have already shared. Payment records held by Stripe are subject to Stripe’s own retention requirements.
7. Children
ADAhelp is intended for adults (18 years of age and older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the Service is not directed to them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Choices about communications
You can opt out of non-transactional emails at any time by following the unsubscribe link in those emails or by emailing us. Transactional emails about an active submission will continue until your matter is concluded.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the site. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
